Our Sewer line backed up creating a Bit of a mess in the downstairs bathroom. Fortunately we caught it early but of course nothing happens during normal business hours. It was Sunday afternoon and we called Apollo. JES was not only polite and helpful but actually lifted our spirits a bit. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and she was able to arrange for Colin to be here at 5:30 to address the issue. He sent the camera down the clean out and found our pipe full of roots. we supposedly had these roots cleared out 3 years ago by a different company who actually got their snake stuck in the pipe and wanted to charge me a significant amount of money to remove the snake. When I told them just leave the snake in the pipe and give me time to take pictures and post them they found a way to not charge me to remove it. They said they cleared the roots Colin worked hard into the evening to clear the pipe properly using the water jet system. He Was polite, conscientious, Kept me apprised of every step he was taking, and showed me the results of his work. if you have an issue with your sewer system, I strongly recommend you call Jes and ask for Colin!

Geoff was on-site within half an hour of my call. He identified the problem to be electrical and resolved it at the breaker panel right away. He explained how the breaker coupling worked, listened for the hum of the water heater and advised me to have a leak guard installed for future peace of mind. A very pleasant, professional and cheerful experience. Thank you so much, Geoff!!

Can you fix a water leak yourself safely?

Yes, you can safely fix very small water leaks yourself, but hidden, pressurized, or sewer leaks should be handled by a licensed plumber. The most DIY‑friendly issues are drippy faucets or loose supply connections you can access after shutting off the water. For concealed or underground leaks, Apollo Plumbing uses camera inspections and pressure tests to locate the source, and trenchless methods can repair many lines without tearing up your yard. We regularly perform this work across the Snohomish area.

Consider these decision signals:

  • DIY is reasonable when you can close a nearby shutoff valve and replace a washer, hose, or trap without opening walls.
  • Call a pro if your water meter moves with everything off, or you notice moldy odors, warm spots, or reduced pressure.
  • Treat wet patches in your yard or recurring high water bills as signs of underground leaks.
  • In-wall, slab, main water, or sewer leaks require professional testing and repair.

If you are unsure, shut off the main water and keep electronics and outlets dry until a professional inspects it.

What does an emergency plumber charge for a late-night call?

An emergency plumber’s late-night charge varies by the job; at Apollo Plumbing, A-List members pay $9.95/month and $49 per service call, and all other pricing is quoted up front after diagnosis. The biggest cost factor is the actual repair required, not the hour on the clock. Our teams handle after-hours calls across the Seattle area and arrive in well-stocked trucks to fix most problems on the first visit. If sewage is backing up or water is flowing where it shouldn’t, treat it as an emergency; if it’s a small drip, we can often schedule.

Typical cost drivers after we assess the system include:

  • Pipe repairs vs. full replacements
  • Sewer backups needing hydro-jetting or trenchless solutions
  • Fixture or part costs (valves, disposals, heaters)
  • Advanced diagnostics such as video inspection

Shut off the main water valve if water is running and avoid using affected fixtures until a technician inspects.

What does plumbing installation include in a new home?

Plumbing installation in a new home includes the full rough‑in and finish of water supply lines, drain‑waste‑vent piping, and all specified fixtures and equipment. Most projects center on placing the main piping first, then setting and connecting fixtures and appliances after walls and floors are ready. Our crews routinely handle this scope and similar upgrades across the Lake Stevens area.

Common items included:

  • Cold/hot water piping to kitchens, baths, and laundry
  • Drain and vent piping tied into the home’s main line
  • Water heater installation (tank or tankless) and start‑up
  • Fixture set and connections: toilets, faucets, showers, tubs, disposals
  • Shutoff valves, hose bibbs, and appliance hookups
  • Optional water treatment: whole‑home filters and softeners

A pro tip: decide early on water‑heater type and fixture locations to avoid change‑order costs later. Map and label your main shutoff and key valves before drywall so everyone can find them fast in an emergency.

Do Water Filtration Systems Require Regular Maintenance At Home?

Water filtration systems do require regular maintenance at home to keep water clean and the equipment working properly. Filters and media capture chlorine, lead, and other contaminants, so capacity gets used up and flow paths can clog, which slowly reduces performance and protection. We service homeowners across the Lake Stevens area with installation, replacements, and upkeep. A quick pre-filter check can restore flow on a whole-home system long before the main tank needs attention. If your system is aging or needs frequent repairs, an upgrade can improve efficiency, water pressure, and add smarter features. Apollo provides ongoing support after installation, and A-List members receive drinking water tests and water pressure checks included for $9.95/month, plus $49 service-call pricing.

Schedule service if you notice:

  • Noticeable drop in water pressure at multiple fixtures
  • Return of chlorine taste or odors in tap water
  • Repeated filter-change alerts or visible sediment buildup in housings

Final maintenance timing depends on your water quality and usage, so confirm intervals after an on-site inspection.

How much does a whole house water filter installation cost?

Whole house water filter installation cost is provided after an in‑home evaluation, because price depends on your plumbing layout, system size, and any needed upgrades. The largest driver is the type of system and flow rate required to protect fixtures while keeping good water pressure. We install whole‑home systems throughout Marysville and nearby communities. Apollo Plumbing provides transparent, upfront pricing, and our Apollo A‑List membership ($9.95/month) lowers service call rates to $49 and includes complimentary water tests.

During your estimate, a technician typically checks:

  • Main water line size and existing pressure
  • Space at the point of entry for the tank and a service bypass
  • Condition of shutoffs and drain access for maintenance
  • Water quality goals that may call for prefilters or a softener tie‑in

Schedule an in‑home evaluation to receive a firm written quote before you choose equipment.
